GTA IV: Liberty Unlocked opens up 18 previously locked interiors
The Liberty Unlocked mod lets you walk into 18 GTA IV interiors that were off-limits, from Vlad’s bar to the comedy club, and brings back pool at Comrades.
Anyone who has played GTA IV knows Liberty City is full of doors that never open: places you only see in a cutscene, or storefronts whose interiors exist in the game files but can't be visited. Liberty Unlocked, a mod by Scott1 unveiled on GTAForums on August 28, 2026, is all about that: restoring those interiors and making them accessible in free roam.
Which interiors it opens
The first release includes 18 interiors, complete with NPCs inside and radios playing. They come in three flavours:
- Newly implemented locations: the Cerveza Heights Burger Shot, the Creek St diner, the Lower Easton and Star Junction internet cafés, and the Cluckin' Bell restaurants in Northwood, Alderney and Hove Beach.
- Cutscene interiors with working doors: the comedy club, Drusilla's, Roman's cab office, the China shop and the apartment from the mission "Lure".
- Unlocked doors: the UL Paper headquarters lobby, the Goldberg, Ligner & Shyster offices, the Bank of Liberty, Vlad's bar, Brucie's Autos and Lyle Rivas's apartment.
As a bonus, you can also climb your way into a Burger Shot kitchen and a prison cell.

Fixes along the way
The mod also fixes several interior bugs from the original game: the strip club chairs, which vanished when shot instead of breaking apart as they do on console; the Cabaret pillars; a Broker laundromat wall that cut through the interior; the boathouse office door, which was missing geometry; and several details at the Russian clothes shop, whose interior audio kicked in before you'd actually walked through the door.

The updates so far
- September 7, 2026 (v1.1): full support for Episodes from Liberty City and a manual install method for players who don't use Fusion Fix.
- September 25, 2026 (v1.2): a cut feature returns, playing pool at Comrades, Vlad's bar, which also counts as a hangout spot with friends. It also adds two lite versions: one with only the new locations and one with only the unlocked doors.
For future updates, the creator is eyeing McReary's police station, the Majestic penthouse, Manny's community center, Elizabeta's apartment, the Suffolk church, Pegorino's house, Brucie's studio and some Episodes interiors, such as Stubbs's club and Bulgarin's house. The mod is compatible with Liberty Alive, another well-known GTA IV mod, and ships with files to run the two together. GTA House doesn't link to downloads.

Our take
GTA IV already has more enterable interiors than most GTAs, and Liberty Unlocked goes further with genuinely careful work: it doesn't just open doors, it brings the places to life and fixes bugs that have been there for almost two decades. It's the kind of mod that doesn't change the game but makes the city feel bigger. If you're into other projects giving GTA IV a new lease of life, check out the RTX Remix path tracing mod.
