Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar is heading back to Vice City, now part of the state of Leonida, and for the first time the series has a duo at its center: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Below is the essential guide to the game, linked to our coverage, followed by every story we have published about it.

It is the first 3D-era GTA with a female lead, and the first built around a couple. Trailer 1 leaned straight into the Bonnie and Clyde comparison with its convenience-store robbery, and preview coverage suggests their relationship plays out between missions too.

Leonida is Rockstar's take on Florida, and Vice City its Miami, the same city the series visited in 2002 with GTA Vice City, only now in the present day, with phones, social media and livestreams baked into both the world and the satire. Rockstar calls it the biggest map it has ever made, roughly twice the size of GTA V's.

Our take: after more than a decade without a new GTA, Rockstar has gone for density rather than sheer size. Narrower streets, far more interiors, hurricanes and over 170 animal species point to a world closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 than to GTA V.

    Raised around grifters and crooks, Jason joined the Army to shake off a rough adolescence and ended up in the Leonida Keys doing jobs for local drug runners. All he wants is an easy life, and it keeps getting harder. He is a different kind of Rockstar lead, and Roger Clark, the voice of Arthur Morgan, has already weighed in on the comparisons.

    Her father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and standing up for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary, which is where Trailer 1 opens. Sheer luck got her out, and from now on it is smart moves only. She is the series' first female lead since the 2D days, and LOVE magazine went behind the scenes on how she was written.

    An old-school drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys. He still moves product out of his boatyard with his third wife, Lori, and gives Jason both work and a place to live. He is played by Stephen Root of King of the Hill and Barry.

The questions everyone keeps asking. Until Rockstar says otherwise, this is all there is, and where it comes from.

  • PC version. Not announced. GamesBeat reports Rockstar is aiming for the first quarter of 2027.
  • Online mode. Nothing official; launch is single-player. Twitch's CEO mentioned 2027.
  • 60 fps. The game runs at 30 fps on console, and a 60 fps mode is neither confirmed nor ruled out.
  • Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo says it is Take-Two's call; no version has been announced.
  • Full station and track lists. Only six stations and part of The Album's 34 tracks are known.
