From August 27 to September 2, 2026, GTA Online adds five Random Transform Races — races where your vehicle changes at random mid-course — and pays triple on them. Over the weekend of August 28–30, selected Transform and Drift Races climb to 6X.

The new races

  • Three Known Unknown Races: around the Redwood Lights Track, the Elysian Island docks and the Grand Senora Desert. You cycle at random through a fixed roster of vehicles — from Blazer ATVs and Manchez Scout bikes to Phantom tractor units — until you've used them all.
  • Two Unknown Unknown Races: land, sea and air vehicles are all in the mix, and you never know which you'll get.

Three more Drift Tuning cars

The Annis Elegy Retro (Sports), Invetero Coquette (Sports) and Vapid Dominator GTT (Muscle) now accept Drift Tuning. Finishing a Drift Race in the Übermacht Cypher unlocks its Glitch Camo drift livery.

Our take

Random Transform Races are among the most chaotic, fun modes in the game, and at triple pay they're worth playing even if you're not a racer. Save time for the weekend, when selected races pay 6X; GTA+ Members get Drift Races at 6X all week thanks to the August perks.
