GTA VI launches on

The Xero blimp from GTA V flies over Los Santos at sunset, with the hills and downtown in the background.

GTA VI marketing is taking to the skies. On October 12, 2026, blimp enthusiasts started sharing photos of Wingfoot Three, one of the few Goodyear blimps still flying, in a brand-new livery: "VICE CITY" along its sides and the GTA VI logo underneath. The same day it lifted off from its hangar in Akron, Ohio, heading south.

Route

Ohio toward North Carolina, with Florida the likely next stop, based on flight tracking

Neither Rockstar nor Goodyear has announced it yet, but everything points to it flying over Miami and the coast during the run-up to November 19. It fits the rest of the campaign in the city, including the night the Miami Heat play as "Vice City", even though some of Rockstar's plans with Miami-Dade County are now up in the air.

And on the ground: Vice City cars in Miami

Updated October 16, 2026. The campaign has hit the streets too. On October 16, photos started doing the rounds of GTA VI-themed cars in Miami wearing Leonida plates:

  • A Coquette, Rockstar's take on the Chevrolet Corvette, in a Vice City wrap.
  • A Lamborghini in Vice City police livery. Worth noting: Lamborghini itself isn't in the game; Rockstar only uses the brand as inspiration for some of its supercars.

Rockstar hasn't announced it, but it fits everything else: the blimp, the Kaseya Center sign and the Heat game. If you live in Miami, you might spot them before November 19.

Blimps and GTA go way back

It's not a random choice. Blimps are a staple of the series' skies:

  • In GTA V, the Atomic Blimp, an obvious nod to Goodyear's, was the first flyable blimp in the series. It came as a pre-order bonus.
  • Others followed, like the Xero Blimp, and in GTA Online you can cover a blimp in ads for your nightclub's DJs.
  • A blimp could already be spotted over Vice City in GTA VI's first trailer, so it's very likely to return, maybe even as something you can fly.

Our take

It's marketing on a grand scale, and very Rockstar: instead of yet another billboard, something people photograph and share on their own, just like the Brooklyn mural. There's a nice nod for longtime fans too: Goodyear's blimp inspired GTA V's, and now the real one is wearing GTA colors.
