GTA VI is the star attraction at PlayStation's booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held this week at the Makuhari Messe convention center outside Tokyo. Sony announced the plans on its Japanese blog: the booth revolves around the game, with a special theater screening An Extended Look and GTA VI goodies for visitors. Rockstar has no booth of its own at the show, so it's PlayStation, its marketing partner, bringing the game to Japan.

A theater with a floor that shakes

The centerpiece is a room with a 300-inch screen, surround sound and a haptic floor that vibrates in sync with the picture and audio, essentially PS5 controller rumble scaled up to an entire room. It's screening An Extended Look, the 27-minute gameplay showcase captured entirely on PS5.

Why it matters

The swag hardly matters if you're not in Tokyo, though it'll surely end up on resale sites at collector prices. What matters is the gesture: Sony is making GTA VI the face of its booth at Japan's biggest show, in a market where the series has never been as big as in the West. It's another sign of the Rockstar–PlayStation marketing deal, which shows up at every step of the campaign, from pre-order promotion to PS5-exclusive products. GTA VI launches on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
