GTA 6: Miami Beach filming permits point to an Ocean Drive commercial

Two Miami Beach permits for commercials called "Vice" and "Miami Heat - Vice" line up with the GTA VI cars spotted in Miami. What they show, and what they don't.

The GTA VI cars seen around Miami in mid-October may finally have an explanation. On October 21, 2026, iGrandTheftAuto found two Miami Beach filming permits for commercials titled "Vice" and "Miami Heat - Vice", with dates and locations that match what locals have been filming on their phones.

The second permit even spells out a night shot: on October 19, from 7:30 to 10 p.m., the camera car was to follow a vehicle southbound on Ocean Drive, focusing on its taillights. Videos of a camera car at work in the area did the rounds that same weekend.

The car connection

On October 15-16, a convoy of real cars wrapped to look like GTA VI vehicles, complete with Leonida plates, appeared in Miami — we covered it alongside the Vice City blimp. According to iGrandTheftAuto there were six designs: the Manana, Buccaneer, Tempesta, Cheetah, Coquette D10 and Emerus, plus a Lamborghini in Vice City police colours.

Two GTA VI-styled sports cars parked by a Miami bridge: one wrapped in pink, blue and purple patches, the other fading from blue to pink.

Six cars on the street, six picture vehicles on the permit. It's tempting to connect the dots, but nobody has confirmed they're the same cars.

What isn't confirmed

  • Neither permit names Rockstar or Take-Two.
  • Rockstar hasn't commented on the cars or on any commercial.
  • No finished ad has surfaced yet.

What there is, is a lot of overlap. 305 Films has worked with the Miami Heat before, and the Heat announced their Rockstar partnership on October 2, ahead of their Vice City-themed game on November 18. And Lummus Park and Muscle Beach are both sites in the "Vice Beach" deal Rockstar has signed with Miami Beach.

Our take

Everything points to Rockstar and the Heat preparing a commercial shot on Ocean Drive for the final stretch before November 19, most likely for game night. Our favourite detail is the taillight shot — it's exactly the kind of frame Rockstar loves in its trailers. If it's confirmed, it'll be the first time we see GTA VI cars actually driving down the street that inspired Vice City.
