Red Dead Redemption arrives on Netflix, iOS, Android, PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare hit mobile, Netflix and current consoles, with a free upgrade for PS4, Xbox One and Switch owners. Here’s how.
The original Red Dead Redemption has never been easier to play. Since December 2, 2025, the 2010 classic and its zombie expansion Undead Nightmare have been available for the first time on iOS and Android, free for Netflix subscribers, and on current consoles: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Rockstar first announced the release on November 13.
The new versions include both full campaigns plus the bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition.
The story, if you’ve never played it
Red Dead Redemption picks up right after Red Dead Redemption 2. Former Van der Linde gang member John Marston is forced by federal agents — who are holding his family hostage — to capture or kill his old companions, in a journey across the American West and Mexico. Undead Nightmare reimagines that world overrun by a zombie plague, with Marston searching for a cure.

On mobile and Netflix
This is Red Dead Redemption’s mobile debut, with touch-friendly controls and a performance mode that unlocks higher frame rates on some devices. Netflix subscribers can download and play either version through the Netflix app at no extra cost.

Console enhancements
Platform | Improvements |
|---|---|
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | 60 fps, sharper image quality, HDR and up to 4K |
Nintendo Switch 2 | 60 fps at high resolution, DLSS, HDR and mouse controls |
The console versions, developed with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, are also in the PlayStation Plus catalogue and the GTA+ Games Library.
