Rockstar confirms 60 FPS Red Dead Redemption on current consoles, plus mobile via Netflix
Rockstar announces Red Dead Redemption for iOS, Android, Netflix and current consoles: 60 FPS, 4K, free upgrades from PS4, Switch and Xbox One, and GTA+.
On November 13, 2025, Rockstar announced that Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are heading to iOS and Android, Netflix and current consoles — PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 — on December 2. Every version includes both full campaigns plus the Game of the Year Edition bonus content.
Mobile and Netflix
It’ll be the game’s mobile debut, with touchscreen-friendly control options. Netflix subscribers will be able to download and play it at no extra cost as part of their membership, just as happened with the GTA Trilogy in 2023.
What improves on consoles
Platform | Announced upgrades |
|---|---|
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | 60 FPS, better image quality, HDR and up to 4K |
Nintendo Switch 2 | DLSS, HDR, mouse controls and 60 FPS at high resolution |

Free upgrades and save data
- Owners on PS4, Nintendo Switch or the backward-compatible digital Xbox One version can upgrade for free.
- On PS5 you can use your PS4 save data.
- On Switch 2 you can continue from your original Switch save.
The new versions, made with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, will also be in the GTA+ games library and the PlayStation Plus catalogue.
Our take
It’s the best possible news for anyone who wanted Red Dead Redemption at 60 FPS: the 2023 Switch and PS4 version ran at 30 FPS on those consoles, and the upgrade is free. And with GTA VI on the horizon, Rockstar keeps bringing its classics to as many players as possible, and for many younger players this will be their first taste of John Marston’s story.
