GTA 5: a 192GB leak reveals the scrapped Liberty City
A 192GB leak of cut GTA V and GTA Online content has surfaced: a huge Liberty City, the Trevor story DLC, alternate endings and very early GTA VI blockouts.
A massive 192GB leak started spreading online on September 18, 2026, containing internal GTA V and GTA Online material plus some very old GTA VI scraps. It isn't new data: according to people who've gone through it, it comes from Rockstar's September 2022 hack, which a UK court attributed to a young member of the Lapsus$ group, and until now it had only circulated in closed circles.
At GTA House we don't link to or distribute leaked material. Here's the most interesting stuff that's been found.
Liberty City, far bigger than anyone thought
The headline find is a version of Liberty City built for GTA V and GTA Online and later scrapped. It was already known that Rockstar had worked on it, but the files show it wasn't a straight port of GTA IV's city: it was a reimagined and considerably larger take. What happened to that work, and whether any of it will resurface, is pure speculation.
The Trevor DLC that never was
For years there was talk of a story expansion starring Trevor as a secret agent, shelved when Rockstar went all in on GTA Online. The leak includes mission names and their order, some of the music and several interiors, including a large mansion and space-mission sets, some of which were later reused online.
Cut GTA V story content
- Alternate endings: audio from a version of Ending A in which Trevor dies frozen in liquid nitrogen, and a much darker version of Ending C for Franklin.
- Brucie Kibbutz, from GTA IV, was set to have missions with Franklin, and there's dialogue between them.
- Scrapped missions, such as a five-cutscene strand where Franklin mediates between two feuding neighbors, or a different version of Legal Trouble.
- A cancelled heist, the Sharmoota Job, with scenes featuring Patricia Madrazo.
- Vehicles that never made it in, plus debug builds of GTA V for every platform.
What about GTA VI?
The GTA VI portion is small and very old: basic blockouts of map areas, such as Vice City's airport, loaded into GTA V. They loosely resemble what Rockstar has shown, but they're from an early stage of development and don't reflect the final game launching on November 19.
Our take
For GTA V fans, this is almost archaeology: it confirms how much content fell by the wayside once Rockstar bet everything on GTA Online, starting with the Liberty City many have wanted for a decade. For Rockstar, it's another reminder of the damage done by the 2022 attack, and it lands at the worst possible time, two months before its biggest launch ever.
