nopixel V: Rockstar announces the next version of the GTA V roleplay server
Rockstar backs nopixel V, the next version of GTA V’s biggest roleplay server. Closed beta from September 8, plus up to GTA$1.5 million via Twitch Drops.
Roleplay has spent years as one of the most popular ways to play — and above all to watch — GTA V. Rockstar Games is now stepping up its support for that community by officially announcing nopixel V, the new version of nopixel, the most influential server in the genre.
What GTA Roleplay is
On roleplay servers, GTA V becomes a community-run multiplayer version of Los Santos. Every player creates a character with their own backstory and plays that role — honest civilians, criminals chasing the next score, and a police force made up of players too. Relationships and choices between characters shape the city over time.
nopixel is one of the names that has done most to grow the genre, with map modifications, custom systems and a very active community of creators and streamers.

What’s new in nopixel V
The new version overhauls a large part of the experience:
- A new character customisation system with more options to make each character look the part.
- New areas of the city, including the Pixel Hotel & Casino and a six-block rework of Cypress Flats.
- Refreshed visuals, new ways to make a living on both sides of the law, and smarter pedestrians that react better to what’s going on around them.
Closed beta from September 8
The nopixel V closed beta begins on September 8. It’s limited to invited players, who will access it through the Rockstar Games Launcher — a clear sign of how closely Rockstar is backing the project. The trailer is up on nopixel’s YouTube channel, and from the same day you’ll be able to follow along on streaming platforms as returning characters and brand-new ones start their stories.

Burger Shot tracksuit and GTA$1.5 million with Twitch Drops
To mark the launch, watching streamers play nopixel V on Twitch between September 8 and 30 unlocks GTA Online rewards through Twitch Drops: up to GTA$1,500,000 and the Burger Shot Tracksuit.
Rockstar says more news is on the way, including a new in-game overlay on PC, events and wider access to the world of nopixel V down the line.
