GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 Leave PS Plus on November 17
GTA V (PS4 and PS5) and Red Dead Redemption 2 are leaving the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog on November 17, two days before GTA VI. What happens to your saves.
If GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 has been sitting in your PlayStation Plus backlog, the clock is ticking. As of October 20, 2026, both Rockstar games are listed under Last Chance to Play, and they'll leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog on November 17 — just two days before GTA VI launches.
What's leaving
Around ten games are leaving the catalog in November, and Rockstar's two are the headliners:
- Grand Theft Auto V, on both PS4 and PS5.
- Red Dead Redemption 2.
They're joined by Football Manager 26 (console edition), The Talos Principle 2, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, Earth Defence Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair and Yet Another Zombie Defense HD, among others.
You can check the list on your console under PlayStation Plus › Collections › Last Chance to Play.

What happens to your progress
- Story mode: your saves stay on your console (or in PS Plus cloud storage). Buy the game later and you pick up right where you left off.
- GTA Online and Red Dead Online: your character and progress live on Rockstar's servers, tied to your account, so nothing is lost. You just won't be able to log in until you own the game.
- In-game purchases like GTA$ or gold bars stay on your account too.
Why now
The timing speaks for itself: Rockstar's two biggest games leave the subscription right as the studio's most anticipated release arrives. Anyone who wants to keep playing GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation after November 17 will need to buy them — and anyone heading into GTA VI without ever visiting Los Santos loses the cheapest way to catch up.
Our take
If you've never finished GTA V's story, now's a good time — it's around 30 hours, and there's still time. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a much longer ride. If you haven't started it yet, you may be better off waiting for a sale than racing to finish it before November 17, with GTA VI just two days later.
