GTA 6 pre-orders set for June 25 as Rockstar reveals the official cover art
Rockstar confirms GTA VI pre-orders begin on June 25 and unveils the game’s official cover art. Here’s what’s on it and how to get ready for launch day.
On June 18, 2026, Rockstar Games announced that GTA VI pre-orders will open on June 25 on digital storefronts and at select retailers. To catch the opening, the studio suggested adding the game to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, which will notify you as soon as pre-orders go live.
The announcement came with a video revealing the game’s official cover art, also available as a downloadable wallpaper from the GTA VI website.
A cover true to tradition
The cover keeps the illustrated panel style the series has used since GTA III: the Grand Theft Auto VI logo in the middle, surrounded by scenes that sum up the game’s tone. You can spot Jason and Lucia, a helicopter mid-flight, a biker, Boobie Ike, a flamingo over a speedboat, an alligator in the water, Raul Bautista, a yellow car with scissor doors and a woman in sunglasses holding a drink by the pool.
It’s the image you’ll see on store shelves and on the box, and it underlines how much weight the supporting cast introduced in Trailer 2 carries.
What we knew — and what we didn’t
At this stage Rockstar only confirmed the opening day and the stores. Editions, pre-order bonuses and pre-load details were still to come, with the studio promising more on its official site.
Context: the first big step towards November
This was the first commercial move since the game was delayed to November 19, 2026, and it came just one day after Rockstar unveiled The Kortz Center Heist for GTA Online and the free PS4-to-PS5 upgrade for GTA V. The message was clear: with launch five months away, Rockstar was starting to build momentum.
