GTA Online Mission Creator: how to build your own and the new Community Mission Series
GTA Online’s Community Mission Series is here. A guide to the Mission Creator: how to access it, what it can do and how to earn GTA$10 million with it.
For years, the GTA Online Creator let players build races, deathmatches and captures, but not story missions. That changed with the Rockstar Mission Creator, which arrived with A Safehouse in the Hills on December 10, 2025. On April 28, 2026, Rockstar took the next step: it launched the Community Mission Series, its official showcase of player-made missions, along with a guide to getting started with the tool.
What it can do
The Mission Creator supports multi-step objectives, full control over NPC behaviour and experiences for up to eight players at once. It also includes cutscenes, so you can tell complete stories: a Pacific Standard robbery that goes wrong, a multi-vehicle chase across the city or a finale worthy of a summer blockbuster.
It also unlocks locations the old Creator never allowed, including several banks, the Cluckin' Bell factory and even the flight deck of the USS Luxington carrier.

Getting started
- In GTA Online, open the Pause Menu.
- Go to Online > Rockstar Creator > Create a Mission.
- Accept the Community Guidelines and you’re in.
The easiest way to learn is by playing Rockstar’s five tutorial missions: Secure & Deliver, Obtain & Impair, Stealth Extraction, Thick as Thieves and Multiple Choice. You can launch them from the Jobs menu like any other mission, or open them in the Creator to see exactly how they were put together.

The first featured mission: Old School Hits
To kick off the series, Rockstar teamed up with YouTuber GTA Series Videos, who built Old School Hits, a mission inspired by the classic GTA trilogy. It’s the first entry in the Community Mission Series, playable on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Enhanced).

Share your work and earn GTA$10 million
Rockstar recommends testing missions in the #job-sharing channel of its official Discord server before publishing, and tagging them #communityseries so they’re considered for future showcases. You can bookmark other players’ creations on the Social Club Jobs page, and they’ll appear in-game under Online > Jobs > Play Job > Bookmarked.
The incentive is substantial: get featured in a Community Series and you receive a one-off GTA$10,000,000, the ultra-rare Rockstar Community Series Varsity Jacket and a Mansion trophy.

How it has grown since
The Creator has kept expanding: The Kortz Center Heist update in July added zombies for survival missions, moving props for parkour, warp points, stealth systems with disguises and cameras, and more elaborate cutscenes.
