Since December 14, 2023, the three GTAs that defined the PS2 era fit in your pocket. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition hit iOS and Android that day in two ways: included with a Netflix subscription, or sold game by game on the app stores.

Two ways to play

  • With Netflix: subscribers can download the Netflix versions of each game at no extra cost; just sign in with your account.
  • Individual purchase: GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas Definitive Edition each have their own App Store and Google Play listing for anyone not on Netflix.

Each game is a separate download, so you can start with whichever you fancy.

What’s new on mobile

On top of the Definitive Edition’s changes, the mobile ports debut a Classic Lighting mode that brings back the sky and atmosphere of the original games. It had been one of fans’ most frequent requests since the remaster first launched.

Three classics in one

  • GTA III (2001): Claude seeks revenge in Liberty City in the first 3D GTA.
  • GTA: Vice City (2002): Tommy Vercetti and eighties Miami, with one of the series’ best soundtracks.
  • GTA: San Andreas (2004): CJ returns to Grove Street on the most ambitious map of its day, spanning Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas.

The Definitive Trilogy launched in November 2021 and is still available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam and Epic Games Store).

Rockstar and Netflix, a growing partnership

The Netflix launch landed at peak hype for the series, just days after the first GTA VI trailer. It wasn’t the last team-up either: in 2025 Red Dead Redemption also came to Netflix and mobile.
