It arrived alongside a deep update to the Deathmatch Creator.
The first Community Series
Launch it from Legion Square, the map or Quick Join. The first batch was seven races: !Dazerś Rally! (DANGERAWESOMETOE), MAGIC BOX (xPROMETEOx-), UP the Balloon (gomatako53), CRAZY GOLF RACE (ShelbyGR), Terminal 66 (Streetmachine66), 13 Trees Crash Circle (teltow) and Little Seoul Raceway (EnigmaT1m). It paid double at launch, and playing three Jobs earned GTA$200,000.
To be considered, Rockstar asked creators to tag their Jobs with #CommunitySeries on Social Club and Twitter.
The new Deathmatch Creator
The Creator gained options to define player inventories, team balancing, starting health, hidden blips, movement speed and Modifier Sets (shrinking play areas, health or ammo per kill). To show what it could do, Rockstar published six modes built with it:
Mode | How it works |
|---|---|
Big Shot | One bullet per gun; each kill earns another |
Speed Kills | A fast team with slow-firing weapons against a slow team with fast ones |
Hot Swap | Your weapon keeps changing over five minutes |
Dead Head | Headshots score bonus points |
Sumo Crush | Free-for-all Sumo in a shrinking area |
Friendly Fire | Killing your own teammates earns a bonus |

eCola beats Sprunk
The week also wrapped up the Sprunk vs. eCola showdown, during which daily soda consumption doubled. eCola won, and every player received its chute bag, varsity jacket and caps, plus GTA$300,000 for anyone who played during the event.

Why it matters
The Community Series is still going four years later: it split into race and combat series in 2025, got its own Community Series Showcase in 2026 and paved the way for the Mission Creator. And the 2022 Deathmatch Creator underpins many of the community modes played today.
