As announced, Blood Money arrived in Red Dead Online on July 13, 2021. It all starts on the west side of Saint Denis, introducing yourself to Guido Martelli.

Contracts and Opportunities

The update launched three multi-part Crime Contracts, each with its own story: The Railroad Contract, The Jeb Phelps Contract and The Bluewater Contract. Homestead and Camp Robberies also pop up around the world.

Capitale unlocks the first Opportunity: stealing the Covington Emerald, the first Jewel of the West, carried on a heavily guarded train. Completing it on Ruthless unlocks the Pacific Union Cap at Madam Nazar's.

  • Quick Draw Club No. 1, the first 25-rank pass.
  • The Hired Gun Kit at the Fence, with the Fierro Bandana, ammo, consumables and some starting Capitale.
  • A new Free Roam Mission menu, new Daily Challenges and the Nominated Series, a playlist voted on by players in the session.
  • The Haraway outfit and Rebellion Poncho back at Madam Nazar's.
  • NVIDIA DLSS on PC, and Red Dead Online without PS Plus on PlayStation from July 13 to 26.

Its legacy

Blood Money was Red Dead Online's last major themed update: a year later, Rockstar announced there would be no more. Its Contracts and Opportunities remain among the best earners in the game and often get bonuses, as in February 2026.
