On March 9, 2023, Rockstar set the date for the conclusion of Los Santos Drug Wars, GTA Online’s winter update. The Last Dose arrives on March 16 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, free for every player.

What we know about The Last Dose

  • Five new story missions picking up where part one left off.
  • The plot digs into the link between the Los Santos drug trade and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Dr. Isiah Friedlander, Michael’s therapist from GTA V, is back — and by Rockstar’s description he’s out to cause chaos.
  • Hallucinations, kidnappings and revenge: Dax’s Fooliganz know the powers that be will hit back, and they’ll need all the help they can get.

Get ready: play The First Dose

The Last Dose is the second half of a two-part story, so it pays to finish The First Dose, available since December, beforehand. To start it:

  1. Meet Nervous Ron Jakowski in Blaine County.
  2. Get to know the Fooliganz and complete their sabotage missions against rival psychedelics dealers.
  3. Unlock The Freakshop, their headquarters.
  4. Upgrade the Brickade 6x6 into a mobile Acid Lab, a business of your own that keeps paying after the story ends.

With the lab already running, you’ll reach March 16 with production ticking over and the story fresh in your mind.

Why it matters

Los Santos Drug Wars was designed as a two-part story released a few weeks apart, something GTA Online rarely does. The idea is to keep players hooked through the winter, and bringing back a GTA V story character like Friedlander is an obvious draw for Story Mode fans.
